We are contracted with most insurance plans, with very little exception:
- We are not contracted with MediCal or MediCaid
- We have very few HMO contracts

A Nurse will call you the day before your surgery, review special instructions and answer any questions you have. If you have not received a call by 2:00 pm the day before your surgery or have additional questions please call us at 858-560-4567 between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
It is important for you to follow these guidelines before surgery to prevent delay or cancellations.

Food and Drink
Do not eat food or drink anything, even water, eight hours prior to your arrival time. Your surgery may be cancelled if you fail to follow these instructions.
Consult your surgeon about taking your prescribed medications.
Please shower/bathe the night before or the morning of your scheduled surgery. You may brush your teeth the morning of your surgery, but avoid swallowing any water.
Alcohol
Do not drink alcohol for at least 12 hours before your arrival.
Smoking
No smoking after midnight the night before your surgery.
Makeup, Nail Polish, Jewelry (including body jewelry)
Please remove all these items before surgery.
Clothing
Wear loose, casual, comfortable clothing to fit over dressings.
Valuables
Please leave valuables at home.
Glasses/Contacts
Please bring along a case for safe keeping.

Notify The Center & Your Surgeon If:
- You have an elevated temperature, cough, cold, vomiting or diarrhea between your last visit to the surgeon and the day of your surgery.
- You suspect you may be pregnant.
- You are taking: diet pills, aspirin, ibuprofen, or certain herbal medicines. You may need to stop taking these 1-2 weeks before your surgery. You can discuss this with your surgeon.
What You Need The Day Of The Surgery:
- Information To Bring – Insurance cards, photo ID, Medicare or Medical Assistance information, numbers and addresses.
- Payment - Deductible, coinsurance and copays are expected to be paid on the day of surgery, unless PRIOR arrangements are made. We accept cash, cashiers checks and most major credit cards with approval on the date of service.
- Driver – You must plan to have someone over the age of eighteen drive you to and from the surgery center. Do not plan to use taxis or other public transportation. Your surgery may be cancelled if these arrangements are not made.
- Escort – A friend, relative or dedicated caregiver MUST stay with you for 24 hours.
- Legal Guardian – A legal guardian must be in the center AT ALL TIMES for children and dependent adults.
- Care For Children – If you have young children at home for whom you normally care for, plan for someone else to care for them for at least the first 24 hours following your surgery. For the benefit of other patients, DO NOT BRING SMALL CHILDREN to the surgery center to wait in the waiting room.
- Interpreter – If the patient cannot read, speak English or use sign language, an interpreter is required. If you need assistance arranging for an interpreter, please contact your surgeon’s office or the Scheduling department 858-560-4567 as soon as possible.
